The black wheels and grille are contemporary but we’d prefer lighter colored wheels that better show the sharp design.

Aggressive wheels and stance

Big brakes with red calipers

Extra storage under cargo deck

Whines:

Black paint hid handsome wheels

Digital tach/speedometer obscured by steering wheel

An excellent interior and drivetrain make the Edge ST a perfect vehicle for mountain highways.

Bottom Line:

With the world awash in SUVs Ford has extended its ST engineering to the 2019 Edge. We applaud the effort, although we much preferred the nimble Focus ST. The Edge ST has all the positive attributes of regular Edges plus the great 335-hp twin turbo 2.7-L V-6 and performance oriented suspension. The Edge ST isn’t in the same league as M-series BMW SUVs and AMG Mercedes SUVs, but it costs much less. In that regard the 2019 Edge ST is a veritable performance bargain.
